Christmas Exhibition

Well, the Autumn exhibition at The Purple Gallery went well.
Have sold 4 pieces and have dropped off 2 new ones this afternoon.

Autumn Exhibition

I'm back!
A year has passed. New baby in the house and new work on the easel.
I've got 4 new pieces for the Autumn exhibition at The Purple Gallery in Birmingham.

Here is the first called Warm Night from my new Birmingham series.

Oil Painting update 3

I finished the painting a month ago ready for the blog, just looking for time to actually post it. My schedule has been relentless as of late.

After drying the initial layers, I had little colour adjustments to make in the shadows and highlights. A combination of GLAZES and SCUMBLING were implemented.

This piece will be part of the Christmas Exhibition at the Purple Gallery in Bournville.

Oil Painting update 2

I'm leaving the left  side of the canvas to dry for a day or 2.

I have now started working on the right to build up the colours and shadows.

I'm building up the textures by using a combination of paint brush and palette knife technique.
